Domaine Belleville Rully 'Chapitrê' Premier Cru 2018
From the clay-limestone mid slopes of Mercurey. Aged 12 months in 25% new oak barrels. Aromas of ripe stone fruit, citrus and a hint of toasty oak. Quite generous on the palate with ripe fruit and continued gentle oak complexity. Quite long with a salty, mineral finish.
Domaine Belleville are based in Rully where they have made wine since the beginning of the 20th century. The estate is currently practicing organic and is awaiting certification next year. The estate has vines across other parts of Burgundy but Rully represents the core of the estate where they have 5 premier crus. The wines are smooth, ample yet balanced and typical of the region which boasts wines to match many of those from Côte de Beaune but at much more palatable prices.
