Font de Joubert Côtes-du-Rhône 2016 (Case of 6)

£85.90

60% Grenache (1920s), 35% Cinsault, 5% Syrah from sandy soils, hand harvested, whole bunch 3 week vinification, pumping overs, vat raised 6 months, unfined, unfiltered, “drink with daube of beef, chicken, charcuterie”

There is baked angle to the bouquet, compact, compressed red fruit such as raspberry presence, a hint of raisin. It is grapey and rather raw. The palate is sturdy, comes with an implicit power that means it is best suited to cool weather drinking, autumn dishes.
