Inconnu Wines was founded by Laura Brennan Bissell with the aim of making low intervention wines that showcase quality Californian fruit without huge price tags. Laura started from outside of the industry, moving to California in her early 20s and also spending time living in Barcelona where she became passionate about good quality, naturally made wine for drinking every day.

Inconnu was founded on her return to California after stints working with Steve Matthiason and with other organic growers around Napa and Sonoma. Fruit is sourced from minimum organic farmed vineyards (not all are certified) that Laura generally picks a little earlier than the norm for freshness and drinkability. Wines are fermented of native yeast, usually in stainless steel before anywhere between 6 months to 1 year in neutral barrels.
